Ginger Mango Smoothie

Ginger Mango SmoothieGinger Mango Smoothie

Feeling bloated after a large meal? Maybe your stomach just seems to be taking forever to digest a meal? Sometimes you might just need some extra digestive enzymes to help breakdown your meal. This is where fresh mango and fresh ginger can help play a role in speeding up digestion. Mangos are an excellent protein breaker-downer (scientific term…I swear.) much like Papayas and Pineapples, in that they will naturally help you digest large proteins into smaller molecules ready for absorption. Ginger on it’s own is perfect for treating an upset stomach, nausea, and helping calm down an overworked stomach. That’s why this smoothie is my number one choice for helping debloat after a big meal. Consider it a guilt-free dessert, if you will. I usually make half a serving and then slowly sip on it about an hour after eating.

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh/frozen mango
1/4″ thick slice of fresh ginger
1 cup of coconut water, unsweetened

Directions:
Place all  items into NutriBullet  or blender and process until smooth using Mixing Blade. (vegan/vegetarian/paleo/gluten-free friendly!) Makes approx 16oz serving size, approx 200-300 calories. Enjoy!
